Best 10 Reasons to Love the World & Why Travel is Must

What does traveling mean to you? Here are just 10 of the many reasons why I love traveling…

In today’s tech-obsessed world, social media may be the perfect platform for travelers around the world to showcase the world’s beauty, but travel is about more than getting the perfect shot on Instagram. Travel should be meaningful. It should excite and motivate you, rejuvenate and ground you, educate and challenge you, and above all, it should humble you.

Travel gives us our greatest stories, our fondest memories and countless priceless learnings that we can choose to pass on to others. Traveling helps us to learn more about ourselves and other people. It opens our minds and acts like a reset button, helping us remember what’s truly important in life.

For me, travel means…

For me, traveling is a big part of life. I was born in a family that loves to travel. Before I started school, I lived on three different continents! So, it was natural for me to love to travel (and have a funny accent that people sometimes laugh at). My sister and I are very lucky – our parents always believed that travel teaches you more than any classroom. This is why we spend every school holiday traveling to new and exciting places, both near home and far away.

After finishing university, I received the best gift ever: the gift of travel. With a round-the-world plane ticket and a big sense of adventure, I went on a six-month solo backpacking trip through Europe, South Africa, and Australia. This trip really changed how I saw the world. So, as a person who loves to travel a lot, here are 10 reasons why I enjoy it so much.

1. Take a Trip to Escape Reality

Sometimes we all need a break from our everyday life. Travel helps us to escape from our busy world and enjoy the unknown in a new place. It gives us complete freedom to live in the moment, to be ourselves, or even to try to be someone new. The best part of my six month trip around the world was the freedom to wake up, choose any place on the map, and just go there. Travel allows us to be spontaneous and try new and exciting things.

2. To break free from our daily routines

Everyday life can feel like you’re doing the same things over and over again. But travel breaks that pattern. You wake up in a new place, walk streets you’ve never seen before, and enjoy new surprises each day. Just being somewhere different and changing your routine can refresh your mind. This makes life feel exciting again. A trip away from the same old routine is a great way to see how big and interesting the world really is.

3. Take a trip to relax

Our lives are time-hungry and technology-driven, and let’s be honest, it’s not often that we take the necessary time to de-stress and truly switch off. Traveling allows us to escape from the daily demands, dramas and deadlines of life and enables us to clear our minds. It encourages us to truly disconnect (from our phones, Wi-Fi, emails, laptops, social media, etc.) to recharge our batteries and reconnect (with ourselves, with each other, and with the natural environment).

4. Travel to make your bucket list dreams come true

Every traveler’s dream list is different. Some people want to watch the sunset at the Taj Mahal, hike near a volcano, see wild animals in Africa or relax on a yoga retreat in the Himalayas. Whatever your dream is — if you can imagine it, you can do it. Travel is like a healing drug. It provides us with amazing moments that take our breath away and turn us into storytellers. It also helps us to be more concerned about protecting our beautiful planet.

5. A journey of transformation

Don’t travel just for the sake of saying you’ve traveled. Travel to feel passionate and truly alive. Try real and meaningful experiences that can change the way you look at the world. These experiences can also help you learn more about yourself, care more about nature and take steps to protect our planet.

6. Stories to cherish and memories to collect

Every trip is full of memorable moments: happily getting lost in a maze of narrow streets, tasting a dish that becomes your new favorite, or watching people dance in the rain. Those memories become a part of who you are. Sharing these adventures later with friends and family brings joy and laughter. Your travels turn into stories you’ll tell for years to come, adding color and excitement to your life’s story.

7. To renew your gratitude for the simple things

When you’re away from home, you start missing small comforts like a hot shower, home-cooked meals, or your own bed. But when you come back, your heart feels full, and you begin to notice and appreciate these everyday things more than ever. Traveling teaches you to love the little things like a clean sheet or a quiet night—in a whole new way.

8. To strengthen the relationship with your loved ones

Traveling with family or friends brings people closer together. You help each other in new places, laugh when things go wrong, and celebrate fun times. These shared experiences make your relationship stronger. They become fond memories—stories you’ll tell over and over again while traveling and at home.

9. Building friendships and human relationships

Sharing meals with strangers or telling stories around a campfire can create strong connections. These moments show that smiles and kindness are everywhere. Even a friend you only meet for a day during your trip can make your trip feel special. These new friendships often stay in your heart, and make the world feel like one big family.

10. To reconnect with one’s roots and personal history

Sometimes travel takes you to places that are connected to your family history. You can walk the same streets where your grandparents once lived, learn traditional skills from your culture, or meet people who feel like home. Even far apart, you can feel a strong connection, like you really belong. These moments transform family stories into real-life memories and help you feel more connected to yourself.
